ProjectOPENSF.org is a website that maps and displays open resources in the city of San Francisco, in partnership with SFHomeless.net.

Although San Francisco is amongst the wealthiest areas in the nation, it is also home to one of the largest homeless populations, per capita, in the nation.

Building from our experience of distributing maps to homeless people in Santa Monica projectOPEN, Brute worked with San Francisco service providers who serve the homeless population. We created a web and mobile resource, including a database on Google Maps. This database formed the framework for a scalable backbone to bring projectOPEN to additional cities in the future. In the process, we increased awareness among homeless service providers of one another, and empowered these organizations to coordinate and cooperate with each other. The outcome: to aid the homeless population in their region.
